 nick and i went to the ny state fair in syracuse! basically ate our faces off and looked at all the farm animals competing for blue ribbons

while i was still in north texas i found this sick deer skull piece on a trail we were hiking. i gave it to tyler because i didnt think it would survive the plane ride... maybe i should have shipped it home ahead of me, but i'm sure tyler will take good care of Henry

first thing i did was chop chop my hair off lol. i kinda look like a little kid... i didnt want it SO short in the front

 went for a beer with heatherrrr played pool with a drunk man who tried to tell us that we should visit him sometime since he lives near the health food store. hah.

yup -- this is the state we were in after we left (at like 1900 hahha)

last field session (back in carlsbad caverns, New Mexico)

At the beginning of our last week our supervisor gave us a last minute extra day off -- we decided to visit guadalupe mountains national park and hike up to guadalupe peak. an 8.5 mile hike where you ascend approximately 3,000 feet in elevation. 

we made friends with some other hikers along the route. i wanted to take this dog home with me! this dude victor took his dog all the way up and down the mountain

the following are random photos commemorating the last week that i'm with my coworkers! it's been a long 11 weeks but they went by really fast -- i'm going to miss them dearly!

this dude kiko joined us for our last week as an emergency hire. he goes to school in the austin area and was pretty chill to work with. it was great working with an extra person since tyler, who normally leads our group, was working on another project.
